As a U.S. Marine veteran, I never thought I would end up pursuing a degree in Cyber Operations. But life has a way of surprising us, and I am so grateful for the opportunities that have brought me to where I am today.
The Decision to Pursue Cyber Operations
After serving in the Marines for several years, I knew it was time for a change. I wanted to continue serving my country in a different capacity, but I wasn’t sure what that looked like. It wasn’t until I started exploring different career paths that I discovered my interest in technology and cybersecurity.
The more I learned about Cyber Operations, the more passionate I became. I loved the idea of being able to protect people and organizations from cyber threats, and the challenge of staying one step ahead of hackers was incredibly exciting.
My Experience at the University of Arizona
When I decided to pursue a degree in Cyber Operations, I knew the University of Arizona was the right choice for me. Their program is highly respected and has a great reputation in the industry.
My experience at the University of Arizona has been incredible so far. The coursework is challenging, but the professors are knowledgeable and supportive. They understand that many of us come from non-traditional backgrounds and may need extra help, and they go out of their way to make sure we feel confident in our abilities.
Why Cyber Operations Matters
As we become more reliant on technology, the need for cybersecurity professionals becomes increasingly important. Cyber attacks can have devastating consequences for individuals, businesses, and even entire countries. It’s up to us to stay ahead of the threats and protect what matters most.
